People are drawn where the hub's fused signal field peaks: a real function of live channel data from every radio, and it moves with real movement, but with two-antenna Wi-Fi links it is an activity hotspot, not a surveyed position. Expect one to two meters of error with three radios around the room, more with fewer. Radar tracks will render as figures here when a radar module is fitted.

Automatic placement: each radio keeps a running mean of its own GPS fixes (restarted when it moves) and broadcasts it, so every page lays the radios out the same way without any typing; the mean settles over the first minutes and the ± column shows the scatter. If the radios' spread is larger than the room, the scene grows to fit and the state line says so. Indoors GPS carries building-scale error: two radios ten metres apart can read tens of metres apart. Use manual placement with a tape measure when the room view has to be exact. Heights are always taken from the table. Lock layout freezes the current positions (saved as manual positions, pushed to the other radios), Follow GPS releases them, snap 0.5 m rounds positions to half metres, Lock size keeps the scene at its current size. The camera is never reset by data updates; use Iso / Top / Front to re-frame.

Passive on the radio's own Wi-Fi 6 card: the channel response of frames exchanged with each connected phone or mesh peer is sampled every 20 ms. Each link (mesh peer, phone) has its own detector; the mesh peer is the primary target because it never sleeps. Presence = motion 3 sigma above the quiet baseline for 3 windows, cleared after ~30 s quiet. The baseline starts from a 15 s capture and then tracks the quietest tenth of the last 10 minutes, so it self-corrects if someone moved during startup. Breathing needs a present, still person within a few meters and shows after 30 s. Requires the v2 build.

iperf3 from this radio to the chosen peer: TCP each way, then UDP at the chosen load each way, with the peer's RSSI, rates, retry and failed counters and the channel busy time recorded around the run. Every result is tagged with the link preset in force, so runs under different presets compare row by row. Results stay on this radio (survive reboot and upgrade); Copy CSV puts the whole log on the clipboard. Test one preset at a time, same place, same label scheme; a run takes about four times the seconds per leg. Both radios need b29 or later (iperf3 server).

Software gains inside the voice handler (0-100, 50 = unity), separate from the ALSA mixer levels above. Saving restarts the handler (voice drops for about 15 s). In Harris bridge mode the radio's PTT is keyed when mesh audio exceeds the VAD threshold (typical -45 to -20 dBFS) and released after the hangtime; both are ignored in headset mode. Only images with the 2.0 voice handler (v3) have these settings.

Apply rebuilds the relay, multicast routing and firewall for the list above and restarts the relay (voice drops for a few seconds). Every node in the mesh needs the same talkgroups.

Headset: Voice 1 (234.1.1.3:7040) is fixed by the transceiver. Phones: in the ATAK VX plugin add one channel per talkgroup with the group and port shown. Engineering group 234.1.1.1 is receive only.

Publishers must push MPEG-TS over RTSP RECORD (the relay depayloads RTP/MP2T; plain H.264 RTP is refused with 415). Viewers open the live URL in VLC, ATAK or GStreamer, or read raw MPEG-TS from TCP 16000 upward. Verified publisher: gst-launch-1.0 … ! mpegtsmux ! rtspclientsink location=rtsp://<node>:8554/publish/<alias> protocols=tcp. Cameras that only serve RTSP need the pull-and-republish helper (later list).

Home LAN means Internet uplink here: the home router gives this radio a DHCP address. Laptop port means this radio gives the laptop an address. After switching to uplink, use radio Wi-Fi or the address assigned by your home router; the old address may stop responding.

Private Network

Routed IPv4 private network with optional WireGuard. Mesh and existing AP settings are preserved. Ethernet is the upstream connection; Wi-Fi uplink requires a separate unused wireless interface. Use different upstream and downstream subnets. Keep the configuration within 180 seconds or the previous network settings return.

VPN-only blocks LAN forwarding to upstream and upstream DNS forwarding. Radio-originated services are not a whole-device kill switch. IPv6 client forwarding is disabled in this role. The peer must authorize this radio's public key and routes. Listening on UDP 51820 needs upstream reachability/port forwarding; phone carrier NAT may prevent inbound connections. Avoid other network changes while this profile is active.

Subnet Recovery

Find known IPv6 neighbors even when IPv4 subnets differ. Select the radio and assign a unique address in this radio’s /24 LAN, outside its DHCP pool. The target automatically rolls back after 90 seconds unless its new IPv4 connection is verified. Older firmware remains reachable through IPv6 SSH but requires an update for this repair action.

Apply renames the radio (hostname, its Wi-Fi network name when it matched, its saved room position) and moves its LAN address, then reloads Wi-Fi and the network on that radio: phones on its AP reconnect, and if you change the address of the radio you are looking at, reopen the page at the new address. Radio addresses should stay outside the DHCP pool (.100–.249). Update tools\fleet-radios.txt on the PC afterwards.
